P.D.F. Cup Shared
This seasons P.D.F. Invitation Cup was shared between Den Porter and Dave Kimber as the two could not be seperated, both finishing the match with identical weights of 19lb 10oz. On a blisteringly hot day it was clear that the fishing was going to be pretty difficult. Almost from the start, large Carp were seen all over the surface areas of the two halves of the lake...clearly, not in the least bit interested in feeding!!!
The first (smallest) lake was clearly the lake to get "Drawn" in as ALL of the six frameing weights came from this half of Jasons. In fact all of the anglers drawn in this half of the lake took all of the prizes!!!
Because of a certain football match.....It was decided to fish from 9am untill 2pm so that anyone interested could rush home to watch a bunch of overpaid prima donna's collect yet another fat cheque before catching the next bus home.
The top five all set out their stall for Carp and it was pretty much a case of first hour and last hour when most of the action took place. Den Porter and Dave Kimber landed four carp each. Chris, Mick and Vinnie all three apiece. Keith Macfarlane opted for a silver fish approach and had a decent start netting about 7lb or so in the early stages, but once they were gone they did not return. a 3lb carp late in the day just edged Keith into sixth place.
The other half of the lake was a real struggle just two Carp were landed in the whole five hours. One, mid match, went to Alan Smith on peg 10 and one, late on went to Chris Crane on peg 18. Both fish helped each of them to claim a section win. Simon Pepper narrowly missed out on sixth place, he was the only angler on this half of the lake to catch any silver fish with any consistancy. Simons 10lb 3oz of silvers earning him section 2.
