Charnwood Day Two 5th July 2011
Colver Lake
Roys Report
I arrived at the complex early again to find the Branston family
again setting up for the event. The weather was cloudy with the forecast becoming sunnier and warmer as the day
wore on.

As last week’s event proved we
decided to concentrate on a bread, luncheon meat and maggot approach, hoping that this would
catch more fish. I was expecting the same numbers as the previous week but after the coach arrived it became clear
that the numbers were significantly up from last
week.

A
quick head count showed around 34 attending the event, which meant that we quickly had
to set up more facilities around the lake. It also meant that our volunteers would have their
work cut out at the start whilst the children were setting up.

As the event began, it became clear, after an hour, that once again it was going to be a
very difficult days fishing. With the amount of children around the lake our resources
were, to say the least, hard pushed especially as the numbers were down on last week. This was quickly resolved
when a couple of more volunteers arrived.
