Tony takes Round One

Just four anglers contested the first round of this years Pike League. Two or three of the usual lads were away on holiday, and probably it was a good match to miss! It was a fine day but unseasonably good weather and bright sun didn't really help the Pikers....

Tony Wincott was the only angler to land a fish, but it was a decent specimen weighing in at 12lb. Tony tempted the predator with half an eel on the hook, and the fish struck about two hours into the competition.

There were a few Pike spotted during the rest of the day but with the sun shining brightly, sadly, they were not to eager to feed.
