Frustrating day at the Lane

The penultimate round of the Pike League was very frustrating for the nine anglers that entered the competition. Once again it was hard going for the lads. Only Mariusz Kosakowski managed to sink his hooks into a small Pike, but the 5lb 8oz'er was enough to take home the booty . Even that was slightly fortunate as Mariusz had started fishing in the wrong peg by accident. When the Piker who had actually drawn the peg pointed out  his error, Mariusz moved on to the next peg and promptly latched onto his match winning fish .

What made the day most frustrating, though, was that a couple of the lads had pike swimming about in front of them!! Try as they might they could not get crafty old Esox to take the bait! .

Still...it has left the competition wide open for the last match of the series, one decent fish could well win the series. The match will be fished at Frisby Complex on Sunday 12th February.
